3. Cookies
In order to make visiting our website attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, we use so-called cookies on various pages. These are small text files that are stored on your end device. Some of the cookies we use are deleted again at the end of the browser session, i.e. after you close your browser (so-called session cookies). This data is stored and used exclusively for the purpose of responding to your enquiry or for contacting you and the associated technical administration. The legal basis for processing the data is our legitimate interest in responding to your request in accordance with Art. 6 paragraph 1 lit. f GDPR. If your contact is aimed at the conclusion of a contract, the additional legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 paragraph 1 lit. b GDPR. Your data will be deleted after final processing of your enquiry; this is the case if it can be inferred from the circumstances that the matter in question has been conclusively clarified and provided that there are no statutory retention obligations to the contrary.
5. Registration with the portal or forum
You can register on our website by providing personal data. Which personal data is processed for registration is determined by the input mask used for registration. We use the so-called double opt-in procedure for registration, i.e. your registration is not complete until you have confirmed your registration by clicking on the link contained in a confirmation e-mail sent to you for this purpose. If you do not confirm your registration within 24 hours, your registration will be automatically deleted from our database. 6. Use of single sign-on procedures
Facebook Connect
On our website, you can log in to create a customer account or register using the social plugin “Facebook Connect” of the social network Facebook, which is operated by Facebook Inc, 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA (“Facebook”), as part of the so-called single sign-on technology, if you have a Facebook profile. You can recognise the “Facebook Connect” social plugins on our website by the blue button with the Facebook logo and the words “Log in with Facebook” or “Connect with Facebook” or “Log in with Facebook” or “Sign in with Facebook”.
When you access a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Facebook directly to your browser and integrated into the page. Through this integration, Facebook receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a Facebook profile or are not currently logged in to Facebook. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there. These data processing operations are carried out in accordance with Art. 6 paragraph 1 lit. f GDPR on the basis of Facebook’s legitimate interest in displaying personalised advertising based on your surfing behaviour.
By using this “Facebook Connect” button on our website, you also have the option of logging in or registering on our website using your Facebook user data. Only if you give your express consent before the registration process on the basis of a corresponding notice about the exchange of data with Facebook in accordance with Art. 6 paragraph 1 lit. a GDPR, we will receive the general and publicly accessible information stored in your profile when using the “Facebook Connect” button from Facebook, depending on your personal data protection settings on Facebook. This information includes the user ID, name, profile picture, age and gender.
We would like to point out that following changes to Facebook’s privacy policy and terms of use, your profile pictures, the user IDs of your friends and the friends list may also be transferred when you give your consent if they have been marked as “public” in your privacy settings on Facebook. The data transmitted by Facebook will be stored and processed by us to create a user account with the necessary data, if you have authorised this on Facebook (title, first name, surname, address data, country, email address, date of birth). Conversely, data (e.g. information about your surfing behaviour) may be transferred from us to your Facebook profile on the basis of your consent.
The consent given can be revoked at any time by sending a message to the controller named at the beginning of this declaration.
Facebook Inc., based in the USA, is certified
for the US-European data protection agreement “Privacy Shield”, which guarantees compliance with the level of data protection applicable in the EU.
The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook as well as your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy can be found in Facebook’s data protection information: www.facebook.com/policy.php
If you do not want Facebook to assign the data collected via our website directly to your Facebook profile, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website. You can also completely prevent the Facebook plugins from loading with add-ons for your browser, e.g. with “Adblock Plus” (https://adblockplus.org/de/).
7. Use of your data for direct marketing
Advertising by letter post
On the basis of our legitimate interest in personalised direct advertising, we reserve the right to store your first and last name, your postal address and – if we have received this additional information from you as part of the contractual relationship – your title, academic degree, year of birth and your professional, industry or business name in accordance with Art. 6 paragraph 1 lit. f GDPR and to use them to send you interesting offers and information about our products by post.
You can object to the storage and use of your data for this purpose at any time by sending a corresponding message to the controller.
8. Use of social media: social plugins
- Facebook as a standard plugin
Our website uses so-called social plugins (“plugins”) of the social network Facebook, which is operated by Facebook Inc, 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA (“Facebook”). The plugins are labelled with a Facebook logo or the addition “Social plugin from Facebook” or “Facebook Social Plugin”. An overview of the Facebook plugins and their appearance can be found here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins
If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook can directly associate your visit to our website with your Facebook profile. If you interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the “Like” button or leaving a comment, this information is also transmitted directly to a Facebook server and stored there. The information is also published on your Facebook profile and displayed to your Facebook friends.
The data processing operations described are carried out in accordance with Art. 6 paragraph 1 lit. f GDPR on the basis of Facebook’s legitimate interests in displaying personalised advertising to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website and to tailor the service to your needs.
If you do not want Facebook to assign the data collected via our website directly to your Facebook profile, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website. You can also prevent the loading of Facebook plugins and thus the data processing operations described above with add-ons for your browser for the future, e.g. with the script blocker “NoScript” (http://noscript.net/).
Facebook Inc., based in the USA, is certified for the US-European data protection agreement “Privacy Shield”, which guarantees compliance with the data protection level applicable in the EU.
The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook as well as your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy can be found in Facebook’s data protection information:
www.facebook.com/policy.php
- Google+ plugins with 2-click solution
Our website uses so-called social plugins (“plugins”) of the social network Google+, which is operated by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”).
In order to increase the protection of your data when you visit our website, the plugins are initially deactivated and integrated into the page using a so-called “2-click” solution. You can recognise deactivated plugins by the fact that they are highlighted in grey. This integration ensures that no connection to the Google+ servers is established when you access a page on our website that contains such plugins. Your browser only establishes a direct connection to the Google+ servers when you activate the plugins and thus give your consent to the transfer of data in accordance with Art. 6 paragraph 1 lit. a GDPR. The content of the respective plugin is transmitted directly to your browser and integrated into the page. The plugin then transmits data (including your IP address) to Google+. We have no influence on the scope of the data that Google+ collects with the help of the plugins. To the best of our knowledge, Google+ receives information about which of our websites you have currently and previously visited. By integrating the plugins, Google+ also receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website even if you do not have a Google+ profile or are not currently logged in. The information collected (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to a Google+ server in the USA and stored there. If you interact with the plugins, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a Google+ server and stored there. The information is also published on Google+ and displayed there to your contacts.
You can revoke your consent at any time by deactivating the activated plugin by clicking on it again. However, the cancellation has no influence on the data that has already been transferred to Google+.
Google LLC, based in the USA, is certified for the US-European data protection agreement “Privacy Shield”, which guarantees compliance with the data protection level applicable in the EU.
The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Google as well as your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy can be found in Google’s data protection information: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/
9. Use of social media: videos
Use of YouTube videos
This website uses the YouTube embedding function to display and play videos from the provider “YouTube”, which belongs to Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”).
The extended data protection mode is used here, which, according to the provider, only initiates the storage of user information when the video(s) is/are played. If the playback of embedded YouTube videos is started, the provider “YouTube” uses cookies to collect information about user behaviour. According to information from “YouTube”, these are used, among other things, to record video statistics, improve user-friendliness and prevent abusive behaviour. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be assigned directly to your account when you click on a video. If you do not wish your data to be associated with your YouTube profile, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data (even for users who are not logged in) as usage profiles and analyses them. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit.f GDPR on the basis of Google’s legitimate interests in the display of personalised advertising, market research and/or the needs-based design of its website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, whereby you must contact YouTube to exercise this right.
Irrespective of playback of the embedded videos, a connection to the Google “DoubleClick” network is established each time this website is accessed, which may trigger further data processing operations without our influence.
Google LLC, based in the USA, is certified for the US-European data protection agreement “Privacy Shield”, which guarantees compliance with the data protection level applicable in the EU.
Further information on data protection at “YouTube” can be found in the provider’s privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy

Use of Google AdWords conversion tracking
This website uses the online advertising programme “Google AdWords” and, as part of Google AdWords, the conversion tracking of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). We use Google AdWords to draw attention to our attractive offers on external websites with the help of advertising material (so-called Google AdWords). We can determine how successful the individual advertising measures are in relation to the advertising campaign data. Our aim is to show you adverts that are of interest to you, to make our website more interesting for you and to achieve a fair calculation of advertising costs.
The cookie for conversion tracking is set when a user clicks on an AdWords advert placed by Google. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer system. These cookies generally lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognise that the user has clicked on the ad and has been redirected to this page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers are told the total number of users who clicked on their advert and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users. If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can block this use by deactivating the Google Conversion Tracking cookie via your Internet browser under user settings. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics. We use Google Adwords on the basis of our legitimate interest in targeted advertising in accordance with Art. 6 paragraph 1 lit. f GDPR.
